This dynamic, intensive green roof with commanding views of New York Harbor sets a new precedent for cultivated abundance. Agricultural features include a square foot garden for urban agriculture, a cold frame for continuous harvest, vertical frames for climbing vegetables, a fruit orchard, herbal knot garden, and berry patch.

Rolling landscapes enfold entertainment areas with lush plantings, creating privacy and framing views for a series of outdoor rooms.  Diners sit beneath a sail-shaped wood and steel pergola and overlook iridescent, double-helix glass fountains.  An exotic alpine garden takes advantage of the rooftop microclimate to display miniature specimen plantings.

The varied plant palette of more than 180 species of perennials, vegetables, shrubs, and trees, creates an island of ecological diversity in lower Manhattan.
