MKMLA was invited to submit a master plan proposal for the public open space components of their new development BethWorks the 21st Century Town Square located on the site of the decommissioned Bethlehem Steel Plant.  Our Team’s proposal Forging a New Identity for Bethlehem Steel proposed goals which promoted the historical transparency of this important American icon in its transformation from an industrial campus to a cultural campus.

The success of our effort relied on the pursuit of responsible design strategies that foster sustainable initiatives while addressing long term maintenance concerns, as well as, energizing the community to be active participants in the design vision for reclaiming their heritage.
