Ridgewood Reservoir closer to preservation as natural open space

Ridgewood Reservoir in Highland Park on the border of Brooklyn and Queens is one step closer to being forever preserved as a natural open space. MKM developed the master plan for the decommissioned reservoir and lead the reclassification effort of the dam to a low-hazard zone. This reclassification effort opened the door to the current pursual of a Critical Environment Area designation and to the proposed inclusion of the site on the National and State Historic Registers. Once the process is complete, the natural area and trails of Ridgewood Reservoir will be preserved for generations to come.

Mark K Morrison speaks at Urban Soils Symposium

Mark K Morrison spoke about Planting Media for Greenroofs on December 9, 2016 at the 1st Annual Urban Soils Symposium - "Soils of Our City" - hosted by Brooklyn College.  Mark presented the technical aspects of green roof growing media as well as a series of innovative projects to a group of scientists and designers.  Attendees were excited to hear about initiatives MKM has pioneered for adding plant diversity to their intensive and semi-intensive green roofs.

"A really impressive group of people, with great talks and fantastic discussions! We have been receiving an overwhelming amount of positive feedback on the day - some even say it was the best (symposium) they have ever attended."
