The Hippo Playground in Riverside Park was recently named New York Magazine's "Oldie but Goodie" playground in their 2010 Summer Issue.
Congratulations to Mary Alice Lee and the Trust for Public Land for winning a 2010 Neighborhood Achievement Award for their NYC Playground Program! Mary Alice received the Norman Buchbinder Neighborhood Beautification Award for the on-going collaborative establishment of 151 community playgrounds throughout the five boroughs.

Mark K. Morrison presented the topic “Sustainable Strategies for Landscape Architectural Site Design” in Kent, CT on February 20, 2010 at the Kent Energy & Environmental Task Force conference sponsored by the Housatonic Valley Association.
Melissa Ix and Mary Alice Lee of the Trust for Public Land presented the topic “Changing Spaces Changing Lives: Engaging Students in Community Based Design” at the New Jersey Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects Annual Meeting and Exposition on January 25, 2010 in Atlantic City, NJ. The presentation educated participants on how Landscape Architects have played a crucial role in an open space initiative in New York City entitled the New York City Playground Program.
