As President of Mark K. Morrison Landscape Architecture PC, Mark Morrison brings to his work over thirty seven years of professional design experience. Mark received national recognition for his overall excellence in Executed Works in 1997 and was elected as a Fellow by the American Society of Landscape Architects. In 2009 he was certified as a Green Roof Professional. The New York Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects recognized his Master Plan for Southpoint Park on Roosevelt Island with an Honor Award in 2005 and his firm’s collective work on the Trust for Public Land’s New York City Playground Program with a Merit Award in 2008.
His international body of work includes projects in China, Africa, the Arabian Peninsula and Russia. Mark’s recent work for the City of New York Parks and Recreation includes the preparation of a Master Plan for the Ridgewood Reservoir site in Highland Park and the design of over thirty New York City school playgrounds in Queens that are part of Mayor Bloomberg’s PlaNYC 2030 Schoolyards to Playgrounds Program. Mark’s work can also be seen in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, Central Park, Battery Park City, Riverside Park and numerous urban landscapes throughout New York City’s five boroughs. Mark is also a frequent speaker at several venues on “Sustainable Landscape Architectural Design” and “The History and Evolution of Vintage Gardening Tools”.
